Assistant Professor in Arts and Technology: Computer Game Design
The School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas
invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Arts
and Technology (ATEC), with a focus on 3-D Game Design and Online
Worlds. We invite applications from scholars and artists working in
such areas as serious gaming, modeling and training game development
and online multi-participant games. Knowledge of a variety of
production practices in the creation of interactive computer gaming is
preferred. An interest in emerging 3D worlds and the opportunities
for research, education, and cultural and creative expression is highly desirable. An interest in the intersection of Gaming and the
Internet is also desirable. Ph.D. or M.F.A. in appropriate field
required. Appointment will begin September 1, 2007. The successful
candidate will have a strong commitment to research, publishing,
undergraduate and graduate teaching, and participation in
interdisciplinary education and research projects.
UTD is a dynamic, growing research institution with a diverse student
